Bold Bite keeps the first appointment simple. The scheduling team pre-registers the patient over the phone, so families can show up with the essentials and spend the time on the clinical conversation rather than paperwork.
Photo ID (for an accompanying parent or for adult patients)
Dental insurance card, if orthodontic benefits apply (coverage check handled at no cost by the front desk)
Name of the referring general dentist or pediatric dentist, if applicable — records are requested directly from their office
Prior orthodontic records, x-rays, or Invisalign ˄ Angel ClinCheck/iOrtho files if the patient has been evaluated elsewhere
For minors: a parent or legal guardian present to review the treatment plan and authorize next steps
A short list of concerns or questions — crowding, bite, airway, TMJ, retainer loss, or anything else the family wants the doctor to address during the free consult

Phone · text · email response times. During phone hours (Mon-Fri 8 AM – 8 PM, Sat 10 AM – 6 PM, Sunday 10 AM – 6 PM), the scheduling team returns most calls, texts, and emails within two business hours. Messages received after hours are answered the following morning.
What happens after you reach out. New-patient requests are routed to Lacy Pope, the Treatment Coordinator, who confirms the appointment, pre-checks insurance, and sends a short pre-visit intake link. The scheduling team then fits every new consult into a slot that respects the family’s school, work, and sibling-visit constraints.
The initial consultation for kids (under 18) is free. Adult consultations are free as well. Either way, the visit includes a Vatech Green CT (ultra-low dose 3D CBCT), a full intra-oral exam by Dr. Greenberg or Dr. Cao, digital iTero · Allied Star records, and a one-on-one treatment plan presentation. No obligation to start treatment at the consultation, and Bold Bite does not use outside call centers or sales consultants.

Dr. Cao is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics and co-owner of Bold Bite alongside her husband, Dr. Greenberg. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Boston University School of Dental Medicine and completed a CODA-accredited orthodontic residency at Jacksonville University, and personally sees every patient from consultation through retention.

Kids (under 18) receive a free new-patient consultation. Adult consultations are free as well. The visit includes a Vatech Green CT (ultra-low dose 3D CBCT with full airway, sinus, and dual-jaw imaging), an iTero or Allied Star digital scan where indicated, an intra-oral exam by Dr. Greenberg or Dr. Cao, and a one-on-one treatment plan presentation with cost and timing laid out in writing before any decision is asked for.

Can I book online, or do I have to call?

Both. Online booking through the website confirms an appointment in under a minute; calling or texting (904) 595-6869 during phone hours (Mon-Fri 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM, Sat 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM, Sun 9:00 AM – 6:30 PM) routes directly to the scheduling team. Do you accept my insurance, and what if I don’t have orthodontic coverage?

Bold Bite accepts every major PPO and files claims on the patient’s behalf, including Delta Dental, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Guardian, MetLife, United Healthcare, Cigna Healthcare, and Florida Combined Life. Orthodontic benefits are a lifetime-maximum specialty benefit, so most plans pay the same amount regardless of network status. The front desk runs a full benefits check at no cost before the consultation. Bold Bite does not participate in Medicaid, CHIP, HMO, or DMO plans. Families without orthodontic coverage are offered in-house 0% APR financing, Cherry financing available with a soft credit check, CareCredit, HSA/FSA, and a 3% pay-in-full discount.

What languages does the Bold Bite team speak?

The office runs in English, Spanish, and Vietnamese. Dr. Greenberg speaks conversational Spanish. Dr. Cao is a native Vietnamese speaker. Please tell the scheduling team when you book so the consult is paired with the right staff.
